During the Miss America Pageant last Sunday, Miss California Carrie Prejean may have sacrificed the crown in exchange for her honesty on a hot button topic- homosexual marriage.
Prejean was asked by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton (who is incidentally is openly gay), "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?"
The drop dead gorgeous and obviously courageous Prejean might have briefly wavered, but stuck to her convictions and replied, "Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage...And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be - between a man and a woman. Thank you very much."
Perez has since called her a "dumb bitch" on his infamous website. Hmmm... what happened to, "Dissent is patriotic," which was the war cry of the left for the eight year duration of the Bush Presidency? On that note, Carrie is not even technically dissenting, since she stands with the majority of Californians that voted yes on Prop 8 last fall.
I have to wonder what would have happened if she had worded her response differently, perhaps saying, "I agree with President Obama on this issue. I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix... Because historically — because historically, we have not defined marriage in our constitution. It’s been a matter of state law. That has been our tradition. I mean, let’s break it down. The reason that people think there needs to be a constitutional amendment, some people believe, is because of the concern that — about same-sex marriage. I am not somebody who promotes same-sex marriage, but I do believe in civil unions. I do believe that we should not — that for gay partners to want to visit each other in the hospital for the state to say, you know what, that’s all right, I don’t think in any way inhibits my core beliefs about what marriage are. I think my faith is strong enough...that I can afford those civil rights to others, even if I have a different perspective or different view."
Guess what? That italicized text came directly from the Chosen One's silver tongue last summer during the Saddleback Presidential Forum.
Just some food for thought.

Yep. I've been fuming about this for days... A different opinion is tolerated as long as it's the reigning liberal viewpoint. She was respectful, so why can't others be respectful of her opinion?
Because she is a dumb bitch.
First of all, Miss America as well as every other girl in that tournament is a molded shell of feminine ideals. I doubt for one second that most of them are genuine. I've personally known previous Miss California's and was just as the other's a silver spooned girl, molded into what the idea of the "perfect woman" should be. Every time a woman in the tounament has pictures come out portraying her having some fun with friends, they are immediately looked down upon and called a slut or a poor role model for children. Any child who looks to Miss California as a role model, "Somebody I want my kids to be like", whatever, is just as big of a moron as she is.
Seondly, the term "Opposite Marriage" literally means divorce. Here's one for your girl.
Marriage is NOT a religious ceremony. Some Marriages are religious. Just like all rectangles are not squares, but all squares are rectangles.
Millions of people, including myself get married all the time without religion. I specifically went through our wedding text and removed any instance of the word "GOD", "HIGHER POWER", "CHURCH". My marriage was between my wife and I, not between us and god.
This country is founded with a consitutional belief in the separation of church and state. Any person that tries to use a religious view to vote on a law that affects millions of people is an idiot and if your vote takes away a group of people's rights you are, in my opinion a terrible person. There is no difference than saying a woman can't vote, a black man can't own land, a jew can't go to the movies.
CIVIL UNIONS, hahaha, those are not the same as a marriage. They don't give you the same rights, even though you all seem to think they do.
Bottom line, in 50 years, after gay marriage has been legalized for many, many years, I will look back, knowing I fought for the right side.
"Miss California" may mean well and she may even have some intelligence but she is still pretty dumb. And yes, she is using religion to define what she believes the law should be, more idiocy. She is one person, of many who has fought to remove rights from a group of peope, she is a bitch. I usually don't agree with Perez Hilton. I think he is a moron too, but on this issue. I have to agree with him.
Hey Anonymous! Thanks for taking the time to plug "gay marriage" into a search engine, and then bash all the conservative blogs that come up without even reading them. And to use your real name even-how courageous! I admit, Anonymous is kind of out there as far as names go, but to each their own. I have to admire your tenacity to stick up for your convictions, even when they have nothing to do with the point of the original post.
If you had actually read my post about "gay marriage", you would have seen that I was not arguing for nor against gay marriage. I was simply pointing out the unfairness of this girl being slandered by the Obama-loving media. She was asked for her opinion, she gave it, and now she's a Dumb Bitch for having that opinion.
I would love your opinion Annie (is it ok to call you Annie? Anonymous is just a little too weird for my taste)- If Miss CA is a Dumb Bitch based solely on her opinion that gays should not be allowed to marry, does that make President Obama a Dumb Bitch too?
So are you retarded or just act like it to imply sarcasm?
I agree. I think her point was valid and good. I think you are just trying to defend Ms. California's opinions. If she had disagreed with your views you would have said "How can she represent California when Californians disagreed with gay marriage."
If gay marriage becomes legal in the next few years, how long are you going to keep crying and fighting liberal view, or will you do as you advised all the people who voted no on 8 to do, "You lost, just give up already"?
Man am I glad she if finally getting hers.
Guess the Right Wing Moral Goddess isn't such a moral person to look up to these days.
Either way you look at it, she is not as good as she claims. Posing such scantily clad clothing isn't whats the worst part, she lied about it several times, denying all through the Miss California and Miss USA Pageant that she had never taken nude or partially nude photos.
So glad that she has finally been brought down a peg!
