The Age of Obama draws nearer with The Chosen One's Inauguration less than a week away. On January 20th, 2008, the new Prez will kick off his reign in style, to the tune of $160,000,000 (according to recent estimates). This far exeeds the $42,300,000 spent by George W. Bush in 2005, and the $33,000,000 spent by Bill Clinton in 1993.
For someone so intent on robbing the rich to give to the poor (Increasing taxes on top earners to hand out welfare checks to those 40% of Americans that already get a governement break by not paying taxes), I'd have thought he'd want to tone down the frivolous spending a bit. I would much rather see the transfer of power take place with a handshake in the Oval Office.

I remember that Democrats and other assorted lefties were all over President Bush for spending so much on his inauguration after the tsunami in Asia. You don't hear a peep about 0bama spending this much money when so many people are out of work...
